Ryan Daniel Haynes, 23, of Pacifica, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012 in Needles, California, as a passenger in a car accident. Ryan was born on March 2, 1989 in Redwood City, California, to Bryan and Denise Haynes and joined by brother Jordan, twin sisters Virginia (Ginny) and Dorothy (Dottie) and sister Darla. Ryan grew up in Pacifica, where he attended Cabrillo Elementary School, Academic Insight Academy, Ingrid B. Lacy Middle School, and graduated from Terra Nova High School in 2007.
Ryan worked at Kerry’s Coffee Shop, Nona’s Kitchen, La Playa and managed Mr. Pickles Sandwich Shop in Daly City. Ryan moved up to Grass Valley with his family, where he attended Sierra College. He moved back to Pacifica to attend Skyline College to become an Emergency Medical Technician EMT. Ryan worked as an EMT in the East Bay and considered it a privilege to save someone’s life.
Ryan helped organize and promote electronic dance music events with Crew Roadhouse Crew (CRC) of Pacifica. Ryan enjoyed sculpting, playing his guitar, snowboarding and wrestling at Ingrid B. Lacy Middle School and Terra Nova High School. He loved theater and eventually joined Pacifica Spindrift Players to act in several plays.
Ryan is survived by his parents Bryan and Denise Haynes, brother Jordan, sisters Dottie and Darla, grandparents Melvin and Dorothy Bolton of Pacifica, grandparents Gary and Vyvian Haynes of Silver Springs, Nevada, great-grandparents Aimel and Kathryn
Bouly of Pacifica, godparents uncle Matthew Haynes and aunt Donna Haynes of Pacifica, aunt Debbie Smyser of Pacifica, uncle Melvin Bolton and aunt Cheryl of Tracy, as well as many cousins.
Ryan is preceded in death by sister Virginia Haynes and grandmother Virginia Vavra of Pacifica, great-grandparents Frank and Minnie Bolton of Suisun, California, great-grandfather Joseph Sliskovich of Wilmington, California, and great-grandparents Walter and Ida Syme of South San Francisco.
Ryan’s memorial service was held on Saturday, Oct. 20, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church and was officiated by Father Leonard Calegari, who also officiated Ryan’s baptism and First Holy Communion. Ryan’s family would like to thank all of Ryan’s family and friends for attending his services and celebrating Ryan’s life.
