A Pinecrest High School student who died Saturday morning in a car accident in Taylortown is being remembered as an “excellent student” who was “highly regarded by both students and staff,” according to a statement from the Joel County, the school’s principal.
In a statement released Monday through Moore County Schools, County said, “We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of one of our students, junior Allie Rabstenjnek. … In addition to taking several advanced placement courses, Allie was very active in extracurricular activities such as marching band, the swim team and more.”
Taylortown police are handling the investigation of the accident that reportedly happened around 10 a.m. on Main Street near Beulah Hill Road. Initial reports were that an unidentified individual was also transported by ambulance to the hospital.
A funeral service for Rabstenjnek, 16, will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 at The Seven Lakes Chapel in the Pines with the Rev. Don Welch officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Boles Funeral Home in Seven Lakes.

Pinecrest High School will have extra counselors on hand today for students who wish to speak to one.
