NORWALK — A well-known Norwalk rapper was killed in a car accident in Newtown Saturday.

Connecticut State Troopers say 22-year-old Tracianne Pascarelli of Ferris Avenue died in a crash on Interstate 84 near exit 9 after the 1990 Mazda Miata she was traveling in veered off the road and went down an embankment.

Pascarelli was a passenger in a car driven by 18-year-old Larissa Peterson of Danbury. Peterson is listed in stable condition at Danbury Hospital.

Pascarelli, who was known as rapper “Shortii P” to her friends, family and fans, was pronounced dead at the scene.

By Sunday afternoon, news of Pascarelli’s death had spread through the social media site, Twitter, with numerous friends expressing grief for the young star.

“She was beautiful and talented, RIP,” tweeted RachelSlugos, while another friend tweeted, “RIP SHORTII P!! Can’t believe you’re gone! May you rest in paradise pretty lady.”

According to Kold World Entertainment’s website, Pascarelli was a recording artist with the company and had a CD called “Over the legal limit.”

Pascarelli’s family expressed the need to grieve in private and declined to comment on the incident.

Police say the accident remains under investigation. Anyone who witnessed the crash is urged to call the Troop A barracks in Southbury at (203) 267-2200.
