A LifeFlight air ambulance lifts off from the scene of the fatal accident at King Hill Saturday.

A King Hill woman was killed and her young daughter taken by LifeFlight to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center following a two-car accident on Highway 30 Saturday.

The accident occurred at roughly 9 a.m. when, according to eyewitnesses, a white pickup truck, being driven by another King Hill resident, stopped at the stop sign on Montgomery Road, then proceeded onto the old Highway 30, striking the SUV driven by the woman.

The SUV rolled several times down the road and came to rest on its tires. The woman and her daughter were both thrown from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The young girl’s condition is believed to be critical. She was taken by air ambulance from the scene.

The driver of the pickup, described as an elderly male, was taken initially by ambulance to Elmore Medical Center. His condition is not immediately known.

The Mountain Home News is withholding the name of the victim at this time because we have been unable to confirm that all members of the woman’s family have been notified.

Idaho State Police continue to investigate the accident. The accident scene has now been cleared.
