U.S. Rep. John Tierney’s campaign said it will review the Congressman’s schedule for the next few days and “adjust it accordingly” so that he can care for his wife Patrice, who was injured in a car accident Tuesday morning.

According to Tierney’s campaign manager Matt Robinson, Patrice Tierney’s car was struck from behind. “She sustained some injuries and was treated at Beverly Hospital before being released around mid-day. It appears that having her seat belt on prevented her injuries from being far more serious,” Robinson said in a statement.

Tierney is locked in a tight contest with former Senate minority leader Richard Tisei, a Wakefield Republican, in the 6th Congressional District.
