CLARKE COUNTY, Ga. — A man was killed when a driver lost control and hit a pair of pedestrians in Clarke County on Sunday.

Athens Clark County Police said the accident happened on Barnett Shoals Road just after 9 a.m.

Chelsea Clark, 25, lost control of her Hyundai Elantra in the east bound lanes and the car spun counterclockwise into the westbound lanes where the passenger side of the car hit two pedestrians, according to authorities.

The vehicle came to a rest on top of Cort Clouspy, 51, who died from his injuries. Elizabeth Clouspy was also hit and admitted to Athens Regional Medical Center with minor injuries, police said.

Investigators told Channel 2 Action News that the Clouspys were both wearing pedestrian safety vests.Police said they had not determined if charges would be filed.
