John Milwee, 57, died today when his Volkswagen Rabbit was involved in a five-car accident in the 6400 block of Grelot Road, Mobile Police Department’s Corporal Christopher Levy confirmed to the Press-Register.
Mobile Police responded to a report of a traffic crash with injuries at 3:25 p.m. Mobile Fire Rescue also responded and transported five people to the hospital. Milwee was pronounced dead at the scene.
Levy told the Press-Register that Milwee had his daughter and one of her classmates in the car. He confirmed one of the minors had a “serious injury. However, I believe, it appears to be serious but not life threatening,” he said.
Levy said a gold Chevrolet Cavalier turned left out of an apartment complex on Grelot, heading westbound when it collided with a black Buick Rainier traveling eastbound. The Buick hit Milwee’s vehicle, which was headed west. A Oldsmobile Cutlass then hit the Buick.
No arrests were made. No charges were filed. No tickets were written.
Mobile Police continue to investigate.
