NORWALK — A one-car accident felled a tree caused a backup on the Merritt Parkway early Friday afternoon.
At roughly 1:30 p.m. a Lexus SUV struck a 30-foot tree between the Exit 38 on and off ramps, knocking the tree down and flipping the car before coming to rest on its side against the tree, according to a release from the Norwalk Fire Department. The fire department said the car’s two occupants, an elderly couple and their dog, were not injured.
