Motorcyclist Killed In Cobb County Crash

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Officials with the Cobb County Police Department said they are looking for the driver of a truck who may have been involved in a deadly motorcycle accident.

Police said Mark Conroy, 60, of Marietta, was driving his motorcycle in the right southbound lane of Johnson Ferry Road just before 5 p.m. Thursday. Witnesses told police that the driver of a gray or black Ford F-150 truck cut Conroy off.

Police said to avoid the collision, investigators believe the motorcyclist was forced up and over the curb and across the sidewalk. Authorities said Conroy struck a brick pillar which connected wood fencing along the sidewalk.

Conroy was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, but died as a result of his injuries, police said.
