CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — Several students were injured after a crash between a school bus and a tractor-trailer truck on Tuesday morning, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred on Highway 369 and Lovelace Lane. A Cherokee County Schools spokesperson said the students were enroute to Free Home Elementary.
The bus driver, 52, and the truck driver, 43, were taken to North Fulton Hospital with series injuries, Cherokee Fire spokesman Tim Cavandar said.
There were six students on the bus when it crashed with an 18-wheeler, Cherokee County Sheriff Roger Garrison said. Four students, two girls and two boys, were transported to Northside Cherokee Hospital with minor injuries, firefighters said. They said the other students were picked up by family members.
