SANTA FE, Texas—Two people died in a domino-effect car accident involving three vehicles Friday evening.

Santa Fe police say that a truck was driving west on the 16600 block of Highway 6 around 7 p.m. when it rear-ended a Jeep. The impact ejected the driver, 65-year-old Sharon Zakkizadeh, and the Jeep continued to roll into the eastbound lane of traffic where it hit a Honda.

Joseph Seymour, 58, was driving the Honda at the time of the crash. Both Zakkizadeh and Seymour were found dead on the scene.

The driver of the truck, 29-year-old Charles Orsak, was transported to UTMB in critical condition.

Santa Fe police collaborated with Galveston County deputies and paramedics to clear the scene. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing. Officials do not currently believe that speed or alcohol played a role.
