MOSS POINT — Moss Point resident Regis Crawford, 46, was ejected from his vehicle and died on the scene in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. 90 and Franklin Creek Road in Moss Point on Sunday around 5 p.m,
Crawford was driving a 2005 Honda Accord in the left west-bound lane approaching the intersection when he proceeded into the left turning lane that was blocked off by construction barrels. Crawford turned left and collided into a 1996 Ford Crown Victoria being driven by Moss Point resident Philip Franklin, 26, who then veered off the road to the right into construction machinery, officials said.
The call was received at 5:14 p.m.
Franklin was taken to Singing River Hospital reportedly with minor injuries. Both vehicles had single occupants, accident reconstructionist Roy Jacobsen of the Mississippi Highway Patrol said.
Jacobsen said no influence of alcohol is suspected, and there will be further inspection regarding whether the drivers were restrained.
