A multi-vehicle accident on I-20 in Walton County Sunday afternoon resulted in seven people being taken to area hospitals.
According to Gordy Wright, spokesman for Georgia State Patrol, the accident, which involved two motorcycles and two cars, happened in a construction zone on I-20 near mile marker 102 at about 2:53 p.m.
“A Toyota Yaris and two motorcycles were slowing for traffic that was stopping up ahead when the motorcycles and the Yaris were hit by a Chevrolet Malibu,” Wright said, adding the most seriously injured was one of the motorcycle operators. “Three people were taken to Walton Regional Medical Center; two were taken to Grady; one to Atlanta Medical and one to Egleston. Two of the seven were airlifted for treatment.”
Wright said charges are pending at this time against the driver of the Malibu.
Intruder Threatened Woman, Made Sexual Request – Buckhead Patch
An intruder in a woman’s apartment early Saturday morning threatened her and asked her to expose herself, Atlanta police spokesman John Chafee said Sunday.
The victim, who was not harmed, refused and ran out of her apartment in the 1900 block of Peachtree Park Drive, Chafee said. The intruder took several items and fled toward Peachtree Road, police said. Police searched the area but were unable to find the suspect.
“Investigators are actively working this case,” Chafee said Sunday.
Victim of Vehicle Theft Locates Stolen Property in Winder Church Parking Lot – Barrow Patch
A stolen vehicle was found this past week in the parking lot at Winder First United Methodist Church.
According to an incident report, on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, a Winder police officer was dispatched to the church, located on North Broad Street, to meet with a complainant. The woman said her vehicle had been stolen from Gainesville while she was incarcerated — and her 2002 Mercury Cougar was now sitting in the church parking lot.
The complainant, a resident of Gainesville, said she believed a man who had been staying with her had stolen her keys and taken the vehicle.
