An Amarillo man died in a rollover Monday night south of Amarillo.
Trevor Porter, 26, of Amarillo, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet pickup about 11:30 p.m. Monday, heading westbound on South Loop 335 a half-mile west of Georgia Street when he drove into the shoulder, Department of Public Safety Trooper Daniel Hawthorne said.
Porter overcorrected, causing his truck to skid across both lanes of the highway, he said.
The pickup traveled into a ditch and overturned several times before coming to a rest on all four wheels facing south, he said.
Porter was pronounced dead around 11:40 p.m. DPS officials do not know if alcohol or speed were factors in the crash, Hawthorne said. Porter was not wearing a seatbelt, he said.
