BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia State Patrol identified the four people who were killed a crash Monday afternoon.
Officials said the crash occurred just before 4 p.m. on Georgia Highway 140 near the Bartow-Floyd county line. Officials said the driver of a Kia Sportage crossed the center line and struck a Buick LeSabre head-on.
The driver of the Kia, Ralph Jimmy Ivie, 57, of Summerville, was killed instantly. The driver of the Buick, J.R. Tucker, 81, of Trion, and his passenger Margaret E. Crews, 82, of Griffin, were pronounced dead at the scene. Officials said Jean Tucker, 76, of Trion, also a passenger in the Buick, died on the way to the hospital.
Authorities said they do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
GSP officials continue to investigate.
