3 wrecks cause injury, traffic delays on I-385

A single-car wreck closed three lanes on Interstate 385 northbound in Simpsonville as emergency crews and an ambulance assisted the driver of a silver sedan in a crash that occurred just before 9:30 this morning.

Vehicles backed up for more than a mile as they filed into a single lane of traffic to bypass Simpsonville Fire and Rescue, Simpsonville Police and Greenville County EMS personnel who assisted state Highway Patrol on site.

The wreck occurred in the northbound lanes of I-385 at Exit 30 near West Georgia Road. Injuries were involved, according to the state Highway Patrol.

It was the second of three wrecks on the interstate during the morning commute. An accident with injuries took place at 8:37 a.m. at nearly the same spot near Exit 30.

A third crash without injuries happened at 10:02 a.m. near Fairview Road at Exit 29, just north of the other accident sites, according to Highway Patrol.
