A 26-year-old Seattle man, who was a passenger in a Roy-area car accident early Sunday morning, later died at St. Joseph Medical Center, according to the Washington State Patrol.

He was identified by troopers as Beau A. Dawson.

According to the Washington State Patrol:

About 3:45 a.m. Sunday, a 22-year-old Toledo man was northbound with two passengers on state Route 507 when his vehicle left the road to the right and hit a tree.

All three were injured.

The Toledo man was later taken to Madigan Army Medical Center; a 22-year-old Olympia man was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center; and Dawson was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center and died from his injuries.

Driving under the influence and speed were thought to be contributing factors to the accident.
